Aha! Match tips: power tiles, boosters and hard levels

By Gaming Gangs · Updated 17 October 2026

Aha! Match is a match-3 where you win by thinking: the next tiles are shown before they fall, so every level can be planned. These tips cover the power tiles, the obstacles, the boosters and the habits that turn a hard level into an easy one.

1. Read the goal first

Before your first move, look at the goals at the top: a colour to collect, ice to crack, crates to smash, chains to break or keys to bring down. Every move should help a goal. Pretty combos that do not touch the goal waste moves.

2. Plan with the next tiles

Above the board you can see which tiles fall next. Use it: if a red tile is about to drop into a column, set up a move that turns it into a match. This is what makes Aha! Match a puzzle and not a game of luck.

3. Make power tiles

5 in a rowLight OrbSwap it with a tile to clear that whole colour.

Swap two power tiles into each other for an even bigger effect. A Light Orb swapped with another power tile turns a whole colour into that power.

4. Know the obstacles

  • Ice: make matches on top of it to crack it. Thick ice needs two hits.
  • Crates: match right next to a crate to smash it. Strapped crates take two hits.
  • Chains: chained tiles cannot be swapped. Match them to break the chain.
  • Keys: clear the tiles under a key so it drops, and bring it to the bottom.

5. Use boosters at the right moment

  • Rewind takes back your last move. Save it for the move that ruined a plan.
  • Hint shows a good move when you are stuck.
  • Hammer smashes any tile or crate. Great for the last crate or the tile blocking a key.
  • Arrow clears a whole row and costs no move.
  • Rocket, Bomb and Light Orb can be picked before a level, so it starts with that power already on the board.

6. Look for the Aha!

Some levels hide a twist: the answer is not on the board in the obvious way. If a level seems impossible, stop matching and look around the whole screen. That is the "aha!" moment the game is named after.

7. Chase stars with fewer moves

Stars depend on how many moves you use. Replay a level once you know its trick: the second try is usually several moves shorter. Match the solver's best for the Genius badge.

8. Play the daily challenges

In the Android app, Fib's Daily Riddle, Fib's Tower and Riddle Rush give you fresh challenges and rewards every day, and the Weekly League lets you climb from Bronze to Legend with Google Play Games.

Questions and answers

How do you make a Light Orb in Aha! Match?

Match 5 tiles of the same kind in a straight row. Swap the Light Orb with any tile to clear every tile of that colour.

How do you make a Dart?

Match 4 tiles of the same kind in a 2 by 2 square. The Dart flies straight to a tile your goal still needs.

What happens when I run out of lives?

Failing or quitting a level costs a life, and a new life comes back every 20 minutes. In the Android app you can also refill lives with coins or watch a short video for an extra life.

How do I get three stars?

Finish the level in as few moves as you can. Match the solver (the fewest moves our level solver found) to earn the Genius badge.
